HELP!

"where's the buttons?"
I'd ask everyday or two.
"you're sitting on them" he'd say...
"I'm not I've looked everywhere" I’d say
"get up then and let me look then"
So I'd get up and miraculously the remote control would appear from behind a cushion of the seat I’d been sitting on.
Every single time they would be there.
Every single time!
Trouble is I can't seem to pull off this trick when I'm on my own.
The video remote has been lost for almost a week now and I really can't find it anywhere.
I've checked in cupboards in case I absent mindedly put them away with the sugar.
I've searched underneath my desk, on top of the computer, and I even pulled up the cushions to look but nothing!
Please tell me where they are! Somebody must have some idea!
