just a bit of a photo that goes on the top Once upon a time in the land of the friends of the heroes

[A Better Man] [Main Index] [rough trade owns my soul]

god.

god should be today's hero.

he's pretty famous, after all.

most people have heard of him.

he gets everywhere, or so the story goes.

that said, nobody has seen him for a while. rumour has it that he went to make a cup of tea 2003 years ago, and meant to pop back. perhaps there was one of those omnibuses on the television. i suppose, when you're a deity, a 2003 year long omnibus is only marginally more painful than an episode of blue peter.

actually, come to think of it, nothing is more painful than an episode of blue peter.

i understand that he's busy. we all get busy. we all forget our friends. one day, he'll come back. so everybody tells me. some say it will be glorious, others are less positive. personally, i'm not all that keen on all these armies of ravens, pecking out eyes. a card usually suffices if you haven't been in touch for a while.

lots of people seem to like the raven idea, though. people are strange, as a wise man once said.

i wonder how big a cup of tea has to be to last 2003 years? his milk bill must be huge.

maybe he came while we were out? and he's waiting for us to call? i think i lost his number when i moved to Sodom. he doesn't really like that town.

if he isn't careful, we'll find other heroes.

some of us already have.
