London 7th, July - Why we are here tonight.

There was some discussion as to whether we should publish this issue after today's horrific events in London. In the end we decided it would be business as usual for us and I would like to explain why.

I spent the morning anxiously trying to get in touch with numerous friends and relatives any one of whom could have been caught up in the attack whilst going about their daily business. Thankfully, they have all now been accounted but I can't even begin to imagine how the friends and relatives of people who haven't been so lucky are feeling at this moment.

We would all like to send our love and deepest sympathy to anyone who has been directly effected by this event.

The attack was senseless. It destroyed the lives of normal people doing normal things and ignited fear in countless others. I guess that was it's aim. The terroists who attacked London, wanted to cause disruption, they wanted to cause fear, and they wanted to dictate the way people run their lives. That is why tonight at friends of heroes it is business as usual.

The majority of the issue was written and put together before the attacks took place so if the content seems at all inappropriate in the light of everything that has happened it is for that reason.

Before I go I would like to mention that the Dalai Llama is 70 today. I have a little book full of quotes of things that he has said. This evening before I wrote this I opened it and read:

"Practise love. To do so in all situations will take time, but you should not lose courage. If we wish happiness for mankind, love is the only way. "

And I agree.

Hope & Love to you all,

xx
